What is an infusion pump? Use caution?

What is an infusion pump? Use caution? (figure 1)

Intravenous infusion is a commonly used mode of administration in clinical treatment. Depending on the nature of the drug and the patient's constitution, the speed of intravenous infusion is also different. Too fast or too slow infusion is difficult to achieve the expected therapeutic effect, and even affects the safety of nursing. The infusion pump is an instrument that can accurately control the number of infusion droplets or the infusion flow rate, and ensure that the drug can enter the patient's body at a uniform speed, accurate and safe. It is also an intelligent infusion device. Affected by human blood pressure and operator, the infusion is accurate and reliable, which helps to reduce the intensity of clinical nursing work and improve the accuracy, safety and quality of infusion. There are various types of infusion pumps with different performances. According to its working characteristics, it can be divided into three types: peristaltic control type infusion pump, constant volume control type infusion pump and syringe micro-injection type infusion pump.

Use Note:

1. Only trained professional maintenance personnel can carry out product maintenance.
  2. After the pump has been used for a long time, if there is a depression or crack at the button on the operation surface, the manufacturer should be notified to replace it in time, otherwise the normal use of the pump may be affected.
  3. The disposable infusion set produced by the manufacturer specified in this manual should be selected accurately. If the infusion set of unsuitable quality is used, the rate may be inaccurate and the pressure will be falsely alarmed. For the designated infusion set, its shape, structure, size, biochemical, physical, measurement and other indicators must be tested and approved by the relevant supervision department.
  4. When the infusion pump is used continuously for more than 8 hours, in order to ensure high infusion accuracy, it is necessary to move the infusion pipeline upstream to ensure that the infusion pipeline that has not been squeezed is placed between the power box and the pressure plate.
  5. When re-installing the infusion pipeline, the squeezed infusion pipeline cannot be installed between the two ultrasonic sensors, otherwise, false alarms of pipeline air bubbles will occur.
  6. The flow regulator must be in the line between the pump and the patient and should be on before starting the pump.
  7. Air bubbles in the line between the pump and the patient cannot be detected and must be removed manually.
  8. When the room temperature is lower than 20℃±2℃ or the rate is greater than 30ml/h, it is generally not recommended to set the blocking pressure of the infusion pump to "low" (when the temperature is low, the wall of the infusion tube becomes hard and it is easy to cause a false alarm of blockage).
  9. Do not press the load cell with force, otherwise the load cell will be damaged.
  10. The material of the infusion set and the tube diameter error will affect the output accuracy of the pump. When testing the pump accuracy, a special infusion pump with good elasticity and small tube diameter error should be selected.
  11. When there are other infusion systems or accessories connected to the infusion set on the pump, please ensure that there is no air bubble input and the infusion set on the pump must be equipped with a one-way valve.
  12. The blocking alarm threshold is greatly affected by the ambient temperature and the material of the infusion tube. It must be tested according to the requirements in GB9706.27 during detection: especially when the infusion set with poor quality is selected, the blocking alarm threshold may be inaccurate.
  13. The infusion volume setting must be as close as possible to the actual volume in the container, generally 15ml less than the actual volume of liquid, otherwise it is possible to pump all the liquid in the tube until the pipeline bubbles alarm and stop.
  14. The charging and discharging time of the rechargeable battery in the pump should be checked once a month, so as to avoid the battery being exhausted and unable to be used when working with the battery.
  15. Although the battery is rated for 5.5 hours, if the battery is damaged or not fully charged, the battery's operating time for the pump will not be guaranteed.
  16. When the battery is exhausted and the continuous sound and light alarms, the pump should be connected to the AC power supply for charging or shutdown in time, otherwise the battery may be damaged when the battery is exhausted.
  17. It should be continuously charged for 16 hours in the off state before the first use. Charging method: Connect the infusion pump to the AC power supply in the off state, the AC indicator light is on, and the pump is in the charging state.
  18. The system time needs to be reset after the AC and DC are powered off at the same time: rate, KVO rate, system pressure and infusion set brand, the last setting will be permanently saved.
  19. This product is strictly prohibited for blood transfusion occasions.
